Reliable

Outfit Info
Sweater - Jason Wu for Target, Dress - Anthropologie, Heels - Michael Kors, Belt - Old Navy

Christian got me this dress last year for Christmas and I've about worn it out.  Not quite, but you can see that it's definitely not brand sparkling new anymore.

It's just so comfortable and cheery.

Plus, all I have to do it throw it on, put on a pair of heels and grab a cardigan in case it's cool at the office and I'm ready to go.

It also works well for non-work things like baby showers, dinner, lounging in bed with the cats.

I always get compliments.  I always feel put together.

I probably should've bought more than one...

Color!

Outfit Info
Blouse - Jason Wu for Target, Cardigan - Gap, Skirt - Thrifted from hunt.gather.style
Belt - Old Navy, Heels - Stella Says Go

Oftentimes, when I get a new piece like this adorable Jason Wu top I end up just pairing it with something safe - jeans, a black skirt, etc.  So I'm a little proud (OK, a lot proud) of myself for pairing it with brightly colored pieces and a printed belt.  Score 1 for Julie and a vibrant Monday outfit.

Also, let me apologize in advance for my sporadic posting over the next couple weeks.  We're moving (yay!) plus things are super busy for both Christian and me work-wise so I'm not sure how much time we'll have to get outfit shots.

Wu girl

Outfit Info
Cardigan - Old Navy, Blouse - Jason Wu for Target, Skirt - J Crew (similar here on sale!),
Heels - Michael Kors, Watch - Target, Bracelet - Tiffany

Yes, it's true, I have some Jason Wu.

I'm a poet and I didn't even know it!

Turns out, the West Texas town that my mom lives in and I was visiting this weekend didn't even get Jason Wu at their Target (which I finally discovered Saturday night at 9:00PM).  So Christian was all on his own to buy clothes for me and he did an admirable job.  He fought off the crazed women who practically attacked him for buying multiple things and multiple sizes since he didn't know what would fit me and even a Target manager who rifled through his bags to see what he was buying (for the record, ladies at the Arboretum Target on Sunday morning and Target manager, WE RETURNED EVERYTHING THAT DIDN'T WORK AND AREN'T SELLING ANYTHING ON EBAY).

And he got me super cute stuff that I'm excited to wear, starting with this polka dotted blouse.  Navy plus dots?  Perfect for me.

Seeing red

Outfit Info
Jeans - Old Navy, Shirt - Tucker for Target, Sweater - Old Navy
Earrings - Anthropologie

What's that?  My title's a little cliche and boring?  You're right.  But it's a Monday.

Moving onto talking about Target.  This shirt is one of those pieces that you've probably seen several (million) times if you like reading fashion blogs.  The shirt or it's sister dress with this print was evidently a popular purchase.  And a popular purchase that's still going strong several seasons (years?) after it was first released.

I'm excited for Jason Wu for Target not only because I met Jason at my former job and he was super cool but also because the pieces look like things I'll want to wear for years.  If the dresses are long enough for me, which is often an obstacle I run into with these lines and my 5'11" self.  Sunday morning I'll be in West Texas visiting my mom.  I'm on the fence as to whether this will be an advantage because fewer people will be at her Target (I went there a couple weeks after Missoni launched and there were still prime items in stock) or if it won't get the cool dresses/skirts I want because it's a smaller town.  To be sure all my bases are covered, I've convinced Christian to get up early Sunday morning to stand in light and fight with women at our local Target for clothes as well.  He's a good, good man.

Thank you for joining me for this session of Julie's Way Too Obsessed With Target, Especially When They Launch a Capsule Collection With a Designer She Loves.  I'll try to hold my obsession in the rest of the week but no promises.

Who else is excited for Jason Wu?  Any strategies?  If you're in Austin, do you want a picture of my husband so you'll know who the one guy is in there with all the ladies and that he's there for a good cause?

Co-ed

Outfit Info
Sweater - Banana Republic, Button up - Old Navy, Skirt - Thrifted from hunt.gather.style
Boots - Aldo, Earrings - Anthropologie, Ring - Target

Something about this outfit makes me feel like I should be back in college on my way to a literature seminar or something.  Not that I really attended literature seminars in college but whatever.

Anyway, I do have to admit that I'm very proud of myself today for several reasons.  1) I actually put together an outfit based off those earrings and it looks good.  A lot of times when I try to build an outfit around an accessory it comes off awkward.  2) I got dressed.  This is a big deal because I went running last night for the first time since Missoni for Target opened (and that was the first time I ran since junior high).  So, getting out of bed and into clothes (that look good with my earrings!) are huge accomplishments.

And why did I go running?  To prepare for Jason Wu for Target, of course.

Or, because of a stereotypical New Year's resolution I made to exercise.
